After the end of a large nuclear war, the planet earth changed drastically. A lot of the natural resources had begun to run out, and things like agriculture have been at a stop for some time. The earth's geographical makeup has changed as well, and the climate has been drastically changed in some regions. After the war, what remained of humanity built society back up. Of course the rich and powerful quickly took control, creating cities all around the world so that everyone could be shielded from the harsh conditions of the new world. The spaces in between cities are dangerous. It's nothing but wastelands ruled over by criminals and mercenaries. It's best to take the bullet trains and planes when traveling.
